This absolutely gorgeous creature is a resident in the North American exhibit of the Calgary Zoo. I was not expecting it, but he was my absolute favorite animal. So serene and with the most beautiful eyes.

This is an awesome photo. Wow, check him out! I like how he's looking up, too..
I like the contrast between the dark turf and his (?) very lovely coat. Gorgeous!

He was so serene and just beautiful - it was so deceptive! I just wished I could run my hands through his coat but then I noticed HALF of a rabbit behind him that he had obviously partially consumed earlier. Not a sweet puppy folks. :)
Thanks :) He was so amazing (at least I think he was a he) and there was something so soothing in his eyes. Not like watching the tigers at all. :)
Oooh. The tigers give you this look like you're a gizka and they're a Far.
[I hope that makes sense, hehe.]

Hee hee - they absolutely do. There are absolutely huge ones at the Zoo here and one who was just *pacing* on the side of the enclosure as we watched. I could almost hear it thinking, "If this wire wasn't here I'd eat you all...come on...just stick a hand in...I dare you!"
Oh, the wolf is my totemic animal, my animal soul.

This photo is gorgeous... the wolf really has an indecipherable gaze on the observer.
What a magnificent beast...
Isn't he beautiful? I only wish he was running free and not in a zoo enclosure. I am going back for another visit on Wednesday and I hope to see him again.
Yes... I bet in the wilds he is even more majestic.
